Project information
PT PLN (Persero), a utility company owned by the State of the Republic of Indonesia intends to implement a coal-fired Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in Central Java, around Pemalang area; and has appointed the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, as its lead transaction advisor for the competitive tendering of the Central Java IPP project (“the Project”). The Project will utilize supercritical boiler technology and have an installed capacity of up to 2,000 MW.
PLN is now extending a Request for Proposal (“RFP”) to parties who have already participated in the prequalification process conducted in July 2009.
The selected IPP will develop, finance, construct and operate the Project on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO)/Build-Own-Transfer (BOT) basis; and finance and construct the associated 500 kV transmission line, which will be transferred to PLN as a special facility. The preferred bidder will enter into a thirty (30) year Power Purchase Agreement with PLN.
